Kristen Stewart is at the Venice Film Festival for the premiere of Equals, and she’s already made several appearances in support of the film. Check out the photos and video below!
On Friday, Stewart joined co-star Nicholas Hoult and director Drake Doremus for a casual dinner at the Hotel Danieli. The trio looked like old friends happy to be reunited after shooting their sci-fi love story in Tokyo last year. The real festivities, however, began on Saturday.
First, the group attended a photocall, which is essentially a red carpet appearance that’s meant to both plug the movie and the Venice Film Festival itself. Stewart arrived by boat, wearing a short-sleeved black dress that went to just above her knees. Hoult, meanwhile, stuck with the casual look, wearing a plaid shirt and jeans.
After posing for photos, they settled in for a press conference, where, with the help of some translators, they discussed the making of the movie. For Stewart, the story of her and Hoult’s characters’ “forbidden” romance in a utopian society set in the future ultimately proves that “love conquers all.” “I know it’s really cheesy and romantic,” the actress admitted at one point.
Later Saturday, Stewart will get glam for the film’s official premiere, which will entail a formal red carpet, followed by a screening.
