Hillary Clinton had a wide-ranging interview with Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday’s “Tonight Show.” She talked about GOP frontrunner Donald Trump, her e-mail scandal, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, immigration, and much more. Watch the video below.
Of course, much of Clinton’s chat focused on her campaign for president and the 2016 election, and Fallon wasted no time in asking about Donald Trump. “Is Trump going to make it?” the host wanted to know. “How long do you think he will last? Or are you waiting till he gets tired?” Clinton answered, “I think he’ll go as long as he wants to go and more power to him. It’s one of the great things about this country. If you’re over 35, and eligible as citizen, you can actually run. He’s making the most of it. I’m having a good time watching.”
Amusingly, Clinton went on to ask Fallon if he got to touch Trump’s hair when the mogul was on the “Tonight Show” last week, and offered to let the comedian touch hers. Fallon gave Clinton’s ’do a pull, and announced to the live audience that it smelled “great” (see photo above).
Getting back to serious issues, Fallon wanted to know if she’s “tough enough” to be president and asked about Clinton’s e-mail scandal. Fallon pressed whether they were embarrassing: “Are you typing all caps?” Clinton claimed that for the most part they’re boring. “I’ve taken responsibility, trying to be transparent,” she insisted.
Fallon also brought up Clinton meeting Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. “They were just delightful,” said the former First Lady. “She’s a pro about the selfie deal.” Clinton and Fallon later bonded over parenthood, and they closed with some rapid-fire questions about immigration, college affordability, and where she sees herself in five years. Clinton confidently responded, “Sitting right here, talking about re-election.”
In addition to the sit-down, Clinton also did an amusing sketch in which she mocked Donald Trump via a phone call. The Republican candidate, of course, was played by Fallon.
