George Clooney is not pitching a “Judge Judy”-like court TV show for wife Amal, despite an absurd new report from one of this week’s tabloids. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this story. We’re told it’s completely fabricated.

According to the National Enquirer, the handsome actor has come up with a “megabucks idea” for a reality show called “Judge Amal.” The (phony) series would supposedly feature his wife, a human rights lawyer, ruling over actual court cases. A so-called “source” tells the magazine, in very unnatural language, that George’s idea is “stunningly simple: Turn his brainy barrister wife into a worldwide TV star ‘Judge Amal’ – a hotter ‘Judge Judy’ who entertains while settling international legal disputes.”

The dubious “insider” goes on to claim that George is sure his idea will make them “billionaires.” The tabloid’s supposed “source” then gives a very specific rundown off the top of his head of the salaries of various TV personalities in comparison to Judge Judy’s. Judge Judy earns an estimated $47 million a year, which the source alleges to be more than the yearly combined earnings of David Letterman, Howard Stern and Jimmy Kimmel. Forbes statistics would indicate otherwise. But regardless of the tabloid getting that little detail wrong, due to lazy fact checking, the rest of the story is similarly untrue.

Of course, this “Judge Amal” tale is just another in a long line of the Enquirer’s inaccurate reports about the Clooneys. Gossip Cop recently corrected the tabloid when it falsely claimed George was blaming Amal for ruining his prospective political career. Prior to that, we debunked a report that wrongly alleged the couple was headed for divorce because he supposedly flirted with Scarlett Johansson on a movie set. And before that, we shot down an inane story about Kim Kardashian applying to become Amal’s legal assistant.

Like all of those prior reports, the Enquirer’s latest piece is untrue. Don’t expect “Judge Amal” to be coming to TV anytime soon, or ever for that matter. Gossip Cop spoke to a source with knowledge about the Clooneys, and we’re exclusively told there’s no truth to this story.
