"Game of Thrones" is adding to Samwell Tarly's family for Season 6.
HBO confirms that James Faulkner (who recently played Pope Sixtus IV in Starz's' "Da Vinci's Demons") is playing Samwell's father, Randyll Tarly. Randall is the reason Sam (longtime cast member John Bradley) went to The Wall and the Night's Watch. Randyll was disappointed with his eldest son's lack of physical prowess and had threatened him with death (by "accident"), which prompted Sam to take the Black.

British actress Samantha Spiro will play Samwell's mother, Melessa Tarly, according to the network.

Rebecca Benson, who has a small role in the upcoming "Macbeth" (with Michael Fassbender) will play Samwell's sister, Talla Tarly.
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, "UnREAL" star Freddie Stroma is taking on the role of Samwell's athletic younger brother, Dickon Tarly.
