The drama, from David Shore and starring Giovanni Ribisi, was originally passed over at CBS.
Amazon is moving forward with Sneaky Pete.
The drama, originally developed and ordered to pilot at CBS, has nabbed a series order at Amazon, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
From Sony Pictures Television, the drama from Bryan Cranston and David Shore (House) stars Giovanni Ribisi as a conman who, after leaving prison, takes cover from his past by assuming the identity of his cell-mate, Pete.
The drama is a co-production between Amazon Studios and SPT. It was originally passed over at CBS in May during the upfronts, resulting in a bidding war between cable networks and streaming services.
Amazon landed the drama, co-starring Marin Ireland and Margo Martindale, following the bidding war.
The drama was one of two pilots to be posted to Amazon last month and debuted to strong reviews. The other, Casanova starring Diego Luna, is still in contention.
