“Runnin’ (Lose It All)” featuring Beyoncé premiered on Thursday. Listen below!
Naughty Boy first announced the new song on Wednesday. The rapper-producer posted not only cover art showing he collaborated with Beyoncé and Arrow Benjamin, but also a 15-second snippet featuring Bey’s unmistakable voice. He also started a countdown that had fans eagerly waiting more than 24 hours for the track’s premiere.
That finally came on Thursday night, with the song getting released digitally and to radio stations. “Proud to introduce my new track,” tweeted Naughty Boy. For her part, Beyoncé has yet to acknowledge the collaboration at all, though Benjamin tweeted, “Honored to be on this new track.”
The song’s release was accompanied by a music video, in which Beyoncé doesn’t appear. Her vocal, however, kicks off what first seems to be a mournful ballad. Part-way through the beat picks up, and Benjamin handles the second verse and chorus.
Their two voices meld together in the last third of the song, before Beyoncé closes it out. It’s sure to satisfy some fans’ appetites, as the music icon has only released sporadic collaborations since her groundbreaking 2013 surprise album. As for Naughty Boy, he’s perhaps best known for working and then feuding with Zayn Malik after he left One Direction earlier this year.
