Amanda Seyfried Joins ‘Twin Peaks’ – ARTICLE

Let's hope Amanda Seyfried likes coffee and cherry pie – the actress is reportedly returning to TV on Showtime's "Twin Peaks" revival.

According to TVLine, the 29-year-old will appear in multiple episodes as a brand new, "pivotal" character in the cult favorite's anticipated follow-up. Details about her role are currently shrouded in appropriate mystery, but the website speculated on Friday that she could be portraying the daughter of returning star Kyle MacLachlan's Dale Cooper and his love interest, Annie, played by Heather Graham.

"Twin Peaks" is currently shooting on location in Washington and expected to premiere in 2017. As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, original co-creator David Lynch briefly departed the project in April over a salary dispute, but recommitted in May. He will direct each installment, penned by himself and his production partner Mark Frost.

The updated series marks Amanda's first television gig since leaving HBO's "Big Love" in 2011. She also worked on "Veronica Mars" and multiple daytime soaps before focusing her career toward films like "Dear John," "Les Miserables" and "Ted 2. "

Amanda may be a "Twin Peaks" newcomer, but she'll hopefully have quite the welcoming committee aside from Kyle's eccentric FBI agent. Showtime president David Nevins told reporters at the Television Critics Association press tour in August that "you should be optimistic that the people that you want [back] will be there," along with some "big surprises."
