The daring act marks the show's 100th episode on air.
TruTV's Impractical Jokers is about to film its 100th episode.
To celebrate the milestone, the unscripted comedy's foursome – Brian "Q" Quinn, James "Murr" Murray, Joe Gatto and Sal Vulcano – will take on their most challenging dare yet: a high-wire walk give stories in the air above New York City during the show's first ever live punishment extravaganza. Howie Mandel will host the live episode, Impractical Jokers live Punishment Special, which will air September 3.
To prepare, the cast has called upon the expertise of Ringling Bros. Circus clown and "world's greatest dare devil" Bello Nock, to provide training and tips on successful tightrope walking. The live punishment will also have a charitable element, as each of the jokers' favorite charities will receive a charitable contribution that's determined by how far of a distance each one walks.
With multiple cameras positioned to capture every moment and New York City's South Street Seaport as the backdrop, the quartet known for challenging one another to do the most outrageous dares in public will attempt to outdo each other to see who can walk the farthest distance.
“Joe, Sal, Q and Murr are a very important part of the truTV family and we are beyond excited to celebrate the ‘Impractical Jokers’ milestone 100th episode in such an exciting way,” said the network's president and head of programming, Chris Linn. “We are thrilled to share this special live event with all the amazing fans of the show who have been so loyal."
TruTV.com will also feature a pre- and post-episode digital show live from South Street Seaport beginning at 9:30 p.m. The pre-show will feature guests, exclusive video and surprises. Then immediately following the Live Special, the four guys will sit down for an interview to discuss their high-wire act, as well as answer questions that fans submitted via social media.
Tune in Thursday, September 3 at 10 p.m. on TruTV to find out which Joker will be the first to drop and who will hang on the longest to claim victory for their favorite charity.
