Break out the pinot noir! Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt fan favorite Tituss Burgess appeared on HuffPost Live on Monday, Aug. 24, where he discussed his Emmy nod and one particular castmate's Emmy snub.
"Well, it's amazing," Burgess said of his first-ever nod for the honor. "Everything's changed very fast, but it's a lovely honor and I'm so excited."

Burgess, 36, was nominated in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his portrayal of aspiring Broadway performer Titus Andromedon, opposite Andre Braugher (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Adam Driver (Girls), Keegan-Michael Key (Key & Peele), Tony Hale (Veep), and Ty Burrell (Modern Family).

"I am not concerned about that statue,” Burgess noted on Monday. "But rather, to be in the category with all of these wonderful names who do such great work, that's the true win."
Along with his nod, Burgess also revealed whether the cast of Tina Fey's Netflix show celebrated Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt's Emmy nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series. "We had a table read for Season 2," he joked, laughing that keeping their jobs "was the reward."
Meanwhile, his costar Ellie Kemper was snubbed entirely. "Can I just say? I just feel in my heart..." Burgess reflected on Monday, "that was like the snub of all snubs."

"She is the show!" he continued. "Without her delicious genius, we have nothing to play off of... We rely on what she offers. There's more seasons to come, hopefully, and we will see. I certainly share my nomination with her, because I could not have done it without her. I am a novice and she offered such gentle grounding and collaborative nudging. I couldn't have done it without her."
