Taylor Swift and Uzo Aduba of “Orange Is The New Black” brought down the house at the Staples Center on Saturday night when they sang a duet of the singer’s hit “White Horse.” Aduba was one of several surprise guests at Swift’s second sold-out 1989 show in Los Angeles. See the video below.
Swift began her introduction of Aduba, “On the show ‘Orange Is The New Black,’ there are so many incredible performances by so many amazing actors and actresses. And there is one actress in particular that has one Emmy and is now nominated for her second Emmy as ‘Crazy Eyes,’ and here’s what you know about this amazing woman: You know she moves you, has the ability to break your heart, and then lift it back up again. What you may not know is that she started out on Broadway and is a spectacular vocalist. Here to sing for you tonight is Uzo Aduba.”
And with that, the actress came out and provided spirited vocals as Swift played guitar to and also sang “White Horse.” Shortly after their extremely well-received song, Aduba tweeted, “Tonight I sang a duet with @taylorswift13 on her #1989TourLA. What a tremendous and humbling honor. #generous #funtimes #WhiteHorse.” Along with a few pictures of the two of them performing, Swift later also tweeted, “That moment when @UzoAduba comes out and sings ‘White Horse’ and makes everyone in the arena fall in love with her.” Both Aduba’s and the song’s name trended on Twitter for a while as well.
In addition to Swift and Aduba’s surprise duet, the singer also brought out Mary J. Blige, with whom she sang, “Family,” and Matt LeBlanc and Chris Rock, who strutted their stuff down the stage, during her performance of “Style.” Check out Swift singing “White Horse” with Uzo Aduba, and tell us what you think.
