Straight Outta Compton Wins Box Office

(Universal)

Straight Outta Compton isn’t getting out of the number one spot at the box office any time soon. The biopic about the rise and fall of N.W.A. is expected to easily beat its competition for the second week in a row.

Estimates have Straight Outta Compton pulling in $27.5 million to keeps its throne atop of the Top 10 chart. And that haul would be more than enough for he film to cross the $100-million mark in just two weekends. Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation, which is now working its way towards $200 million after four weeks in release, is looking at a respectable second-place finish again with $11.9 million.

Sinster 2 is likely to debut at number three with $11 million. Fellow newbie Hitman: Agent 47 could bring in $8.3 million to snag fourth. And with low returns for most films this weekend, it seems The Man From U.N.C.L.E will be able to stay in the Top 5 even though its ticket sales are only pointing to $7.4 million.

The new Kristen Stewart – Jesse Eisenberg film, American Ultra, would land in sixth after receipts of $5.6 million. In the eighth spot may be The Gift if its $4.3 million isn’t topped by Ant-Man, which is currently close behind with $4.2 million. And then there’s Minions, which is eyeing ninth with a potential $3.9 million.

Fantastic Four may round out the Top 10 with a possible $3.6 million. Gossip Cop will have updates. TELL US: What are YOU seeing this weekend?
