“So You Think You Can Dance” revealed the Top 6 for season 12 on Monday after eliminating two more contestants.
As Gossip Cop reported, 2015’s Top 8 was revealed last week, based on votes for performances from the previous week. This time around, the Top 6 was similarly determined after the votes for last week’s performances were tallied. Now with just three weeks left before a new “SYTYCD” winner would be crowned, anything the contestants did during this live show didn’t matter, as only the votes from last week affected the eventual outcome.
Cat Deeley revealed which dancers were safe throughout the two-hour broadcast, along with who was in jeopardy of going home. For Team Stage, the bottom two was Derek Piquette and Hailee Payne. For Team Street, Megz Alfonso and Eddie “Neptune” Eskridge were on the bottom.
Piquette and Neptune were ultimately eliminated after it was revealed they had received the lowest amount of votes last week. That put Payne and Alfonso in the Top 6 with Jim Nowakowski and Gaby Diaz (stage) and Virgil Gadson and Jaja Vankova (street).
Each team now just has three people left. Interestingly, each is comprised of two girls and one guy. And, for what it’s worth, Team Street has been dominating the overall vote over the last few weeks. See video of the final results announcement below.
