Lance Gross, who just joined the cast, and Zach Appelman — who was seen briefly in season two — will be full-time fixtures on the rebooted Fox drama.
Fox is continuing to fine-tune Sleepy Hollow.
The genre series has promoted Lance Gross and Zach Appelman to series regulars for its upcoming third season, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Crisis alum Gross closed a deal in late July to join the series in a major recurring role as Daniel Reynolds, the FBI special agent in charge — aka Abbie's (Nicole Beharie) new boss. Harvard educated and following training at Quantico, Reynolds quickly made a name for himself at the bureau with tenacity and political savvy. His assignment to Sleepy Hollow reunites him with Abbie.

Appelman, meanwhile, appeared briefly as Joe Corbin, the son of August Corbin (Clancy Brown), who was cursed as a Wendigo when viewers first saw him in season two. A Marine, tough and all-American, he joins forces with Jenny (Lyndie Greenwood) to look into his father’s work which will be an asset to Crane & Abbie’s mission.
"Lance and Zach are both very talented and welcome additions to our Sleepy cast," new showrunner Clifton Campbell tells THR. "There are rich stories to be told with these characters and we believe that fans will embrace these new -- and quite mysterious -- developments in the Sleepy Hollow world."
Sleepy Hollow continues to retool for season three. Gross and Appelman join new series regulars Nikki Reed — as Betsy Ross — and Shannyn Sossamon (as mystery woman Pandora). The series, which moved from North Carolina to Atlanta, is undergoing a creative reboot under new showrunner Campbell (The Glades).
Sleepy Hollow returns on its new night Thursday, Oct. 1 at 9 p.m.
Gross is repped by WME, MGMT Entertainment and Neil Meyer; Appelman is with Harden-Curtis Associates and Suskin Management.
