The 2015-16 television season has seen another showrunner change.
ABC's midseason Shondaland drama The Catch is replacing showrunners, with Jennifer Schuur exiting the series because of "creative differences" over the direction of the series. Grey's Anatomy and Scandal veteran Allan Heinberg is near a deal to take over the drama from exec producers Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers.
The Catch is described as a thriller about Alice Vaughan (The Killing's Mireille Enos), a fraud investigator who is poised to be the victim of a fraud by her fiancé (Parenthood's Peter Krause). Between cases, she's determined to find him before it ruins her career.
The showrunner change marks the latest shake-up on The Catch. The series underwent major recasting, with Krause and Parenthood alum Sonya Walger replacing Damon Dayoub and Bethany Joy Lenz, who co-starred in the pilot.
Sources tell THR that the entire direction of the series may be changed following the cast shake-up.
Schuur becomes the second showrunner change among ABC's freshman class. The network's fall drama Blood and Oil replaced Cynthia Cidre with Jon Harmon Feldman.
This season has already seen a flurry of recastings and creative changes as competition with cable is keeping the broadcast networks on their toes.
