Shannen Doherty has breast cancer, and is now suing her business manager for allegedly jeopardizing her health.
Doherty has filed a lawsuit against Tanner, Mainstain, Glynn & Johnson, whom she regularly paid 5 percent of her earnings for them to manager her finances, including her health insurance payments. Doherty, however, is alleging that the 2014 premium went unpaid, leading to the cancellation of her policy, and the company then stopped working with her.
Doherty could not re-enroll until 2015, and consequently, she did not visit doctors over the last year. Sadly, in March, Doherty found out she had “invasive breast cancer metastatic to at least one lymph node.” She claims her doctor told her the cancer spread during 2014 when she was uninsured.
And because the disease was not detected earlier, Doherty may need a mastectomy, in addition to chemotherapy. Now the actress is seeking to hold the business manager in question responsible. It’s unclear what she is asking for in monetary damages.
Doherty had not publicly revealed her cancer diagnosis prior to filing the lawsuit. The former “Beverly Hills, 90210″ star is currently wed to Kurt Iswarienko, who is also separately suing the firm for allegedly mismanaging his own finances. Gossip Cop will have updates.
