Rumer Willis did not postpone her opening performance of “Chicago” on Broadway, which was slated for August 18, because she’s “cracking under pressure,” despite a new tabloid story. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct the report. We’re told it’s “not true at all.”
According to Life & Style, Willis “isn’t ready to hoof it on Broadway just yet.” The tabloid alleges that while the production said Willis’ debut was being pushed back to “allow her the necessary time to recover from multiple stress fractures to her foot,” the real reason she postponed her opening night show to September 14 is that she’s simply not ready to play the role of Roxie Hart. A so-called “insider” tells the magazine, “Rumer’s been panicking because she doesn’t feel prepared to perform.”
The supposed “insider” says even another month of rehearsing is not long enough for Willis. The tabloid’s alleged “source” is quoted as saying, “She’s had several meltdowns… She’s been crying and having major anxiety attacks because she’s having a very difficult time with the choreography and all the singing. She can’t seem to get it together.”
Not only did Willis’ rep exclusively tell Gossip Cop that the mean-spirited story was “totally false,”‘ but production sources also confirm that the delay is 100 percent because of her foot injury.
