Kristen Stewart has served as the face of Chanel, and now she's playing the brand's founder.
The "American Ultra" star plays an actress portraying Gabrielle Chanel in a film made for the design house's upcoming Metiers d'Arts show, according to Women's Wear Daily.
Karl Lagerfeld (Chanel's head designer and creative director) directed the film, which offers a fictional, behind-the-scenes look at a not-yet-made biopic about the Chanel founder.

Kristen – the first American actress to win a prestigious French Cesar award – did not hold back in her performance, according to Karl.
"She played it really, really mean," he told WWD. "You only see her in tests and she’s complaining about everything. She’s mean with the director; mean with the producer."

Karl cast the film, designed the costumes and wrote the dialogue.
"They make so many movies about Chanel, why can’t I make one?" he told the site.
Chanel's Metiers d'Arts show, where the film will debut, will take place on December 1 in Rome.
