Kathie Lee Gifford’s famous friends wished her and her late husband Frank Gifford a mutual happy birthday on Sunday. Kathie Lee turns 62 on August 16, while Frank would have been 85. See their friends’ heartfelt messages below.
Kathie Lee’s “Today” show co-host Hoda Kotb tweeted, “2 amazing people were born today xo all my love,” alongside a photo of the couple. And Kris Jenner, who chose Kathie Lee and Frank as the godparents of her daughters Kendall and Kylie, also paid tribute to her close friends. “Happy Birthday to my beautiful friend Kathie Lee,” she wrote on Instagram. “I wish you peace and understanding. I know it’s Frank’s birthday today too. I wish I was there with you today. Big hug my angel.” Jenner also shared a photo of herself with Kathie Lee.
As Gossip Cop reported, Frank Gifford died on August 9 of natural cause at his Connecticut home. He was a former NFL star, having played for the New York Giants from 1952 to 1965, before having a successful career in sports broadcasting. Also, as Gossip Cop noted, Kotb became very emotional during a broadcast the day after Frank’s passing. She choked up and wiped away tears as she paid tribute to Frank while commending Kathie Lee for her strength during this difficult time.
