Justin Bieber was dissed on “Fashion Police” on Monday, the E! series’ first new episode since Melissa Rivers joined the panel. Check out the video below.
As Gossip Cop reported, both Kelly Osbourne and Kathy Griffin quit the controversial show earlier this year, and the program went on hiatus for a creative re-tooling. Melissa, who always executive produced “Fashion Police” while her mom Joan Rivers was the signature commentator, opted to become an on-camera panelist with Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski. The new episode revolved all around Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards, and NeNe Leakes and Margaret Cho also sat in.
Joan’s memory hung over the episode, and whether that’s a good or bad thing may depend on how you felt about her brand of comedy. Melissa introduced a new segment called “What Would Joan Say?” in which each panelist “guessed” what the comic legend would say in response to a given VMAs picture. “So,” began Melissa, “one of my mom’s favorite targets, Justin Bieber,” and images of the superstar on the award show’s red carpet flashed on screen.
Leakes was the first to say what she thought Joan’s reaction would be, exclaiming, “Yes, honey, yes! Justin is back! But it looks like he forgot his brush.” Rancic, attempting to imitate her mentor’s one-of-a kind voice, said, “Kate Gosselin called. She wants her hair back.” Bieber, however, actually already made that joke himself on Instagram.
For her own imitation, Cho said, “I just hope that jacket is pleather, because if even one animal died for this stupid look, it’s a tragedy.” Then it was Goreski’s turn, and he hurled, “I think Joan would say, ‘Insert lesbian hair joke here.'” Melissa was the final one to weigh in, saving what was perhaps the most Joan-like insults for last.
“I think my mother would say, ‘God, she looks pretty,'” Melissa dramatically sighed. “I don’t know who Ellen’s plastic surgeon is, but the old clam-slammer looks amazing.” Watch below, and tell us what you think.
