Gene Simmons’ home was raided on Thursday by the LAPD’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which investigates predators looking to have sex with minors or those who have downloaded and/or distribute child porn. Gossip Cop stresses that neither Simmons nor any of his family members are considered suspects. It’s believed, however, that someone else downloaded child pornography from their home or used their Internet to do it.

A rep for the KISS singer said in a statement: “Today members of the Los Angeles Police Department visited Mr. And Mrs. Simmons at their home to discuss a crime that may have occurred on their property last year while Mr. Simmons was away on tour with KISS. Neither Mr. Simmons nor any member of his family is a person of interest in the investigation and they are cooperating fully with the investigation.” The statement concluded, “At this time, the police have requested that Mr. Simmons and his family not discuss the investigation publicly so as not to compromise it.”

Computers from Simmons’ home were seized in an effort to figure out who may have been involved in the alleged illicit activities from his home. No arrests have been made, and authorities are not commenting on possible suspects. Again, Simmons and his family are not suspects.

Gossip Cop will update should more information emerge.
