The midseason drama will now be called 'Lookinglass.'
The Frankstein Code is the latest new series to undergo some creative retooling ahead of its premiere.
Fox has changed the title of the midseason drama to Lookinglass, the network announced Thursday.
From prolific producer Howard Gordon (Homeland, 24) and Rand Ravich (Crisis), the drama revolves around Ray Pritchard, a 75-year-old morally corrupt retired cop who is given a second chance at life when he is brought back from the dead by a pair of young tech scientists as a 35-year-old. Ray (True Blood's Rob Kazinsky) returns with unpredictable and near-superhuman abilities. The series hails from Gordon's Teakwood Lane Productions and 20th Century Fox Television.
This is the second name change for the series, which was titled simply Frankenstein through much of the development process. The Frankenstein Code was always been considered just a working title, and sources say producers felt Lookinglass better reflected the characters and their trajectory.
This is just the latest show title change this season. Fox changed the name of its mideason single-camera comedy from Cooper Barrett's Guide to Surviving Life to The Guide to Surviving Life and then quietly switched back to the original title.
NBC renamed its rookie DJ Nash comedy People Are Talking to Truth Be Told. The network's fall dramas The Player and Heartbreaker went through pilot season as Endgame and Heart Matters, respectively.
Fall drama Blood and Oil was originally titled The Bakken when ABC bought the script in 2011. It was then changed to Boom and then left untitled before the network picked it up to series in May and changed the name to Oil before switching again to its current title days later.
The network's Shondaland-produced drama The Catch was known as Smoke and Mirrors through pilot season and Wicked Crime was updated from L.A. Crime. Jenna Bans' buzzy drama The Family changing titles twice (from Flesh and Blood and Original Sin).
