Andrew Dettmann is departing the series, which becomes the latest fall series to undergo creative retooling.
NBC's Chicago Med is losing its showrunner.
Executive producer Andrew Dettmann is departing the series, The Hollywood Reporter has learned, after creative differences.
"Andrew Dettmann won’t be continuing as an executive producer on Chicago Med," producers Universal Television said in a statement. "The network and studio value their relationship with Andy and plan to continue to work on other projects together."
The spinoff from NBC's Chicago Fire — and the third in Dick Wolf's Chicago franchise — has already undergone creative retooling following Laurie Holden's departure.
It's unclear at this point who from the Chicago franchise — or if someone new — will take over.
The freshman series, which was moved up to fall following Heartbreaker star Melissa George's pregnancy, saw star Laurie Holden exit the drama, and has recently cast three new regulars to round out the cast. Rachel DiPillo, Torrey DeVitto and Brian Tee signed on to the drama from exec producers Wolf, Matt Olmstead, Danielle Gelber, Peter Jankowski, Michael Brandt and Derek Haas.
Dettmann becomes the third showrunner to exit a freshman series. ABC's The Catch as well as Blood and Oil both made leadership changes as the creative direction of the dramas shifted.
