Amiyah Scott is reportedly joining the “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” marking the first time the franchise will have a transgender cast member. Gossip Cop is seeking confirmation.
According to TMZ, Scott was born Arthur and transitioned from male to female at 17 years old. She is now 27, and works as a model and makeup artist. Though Scott does seem to be based in Atlanta, she has not mentioned the reported casting on any of her social media pages.
And TMZ further claims Kim Fields, best known for “The Facts Of Life,” will be another season 8 newbie. Meanwhile, the new season recently began filming, and photos emerged showing former cast member Sheree Whitfield has rejoined the cast. Another one-time cast member, Marlo Hampton, is back on the scene, too, but likely in a recurring “friend” capacity.
Nene Leakes, of course, is not returning for the first time in the series’ history. Claudia Jordan, as Gossip Cop previously reported, is also out after just one season. Other current stars Kandi Burruss, Kenya Moore, Cynthia Bailey, and Phaedra Parks will all likely continue as main cast members.
No premiere date has been announced, and Bravo generally doesn’t officially reveal the full cast until then. Gossip Cop will have updates.
