5 Seconds Of Summer rocked out with “She’s Kinda Hot” to open the 2015 Teen Choice Awards on Sunday. Check out the video below!
“She’s Kinda Hot” is the lead single from the Australian group’s second album, Sounds Good Feels Good, which will be released in October. The track was co-written by members Michael Clifford and Ashton Irwin working with Good Charlotte’s Joel and Benji Madden. While the band has already sang the song live, this marks the first television performance.
In addition to the performance, 5 Seconds Of Summer came into the Teen Choice Awards nominated for a whopping 6 different awards. The categories are Choice Music Group: Male, Choice Male Hottie, Choice International Artist, Choice Summer Music Star: Group, Choice Song: Group, and Choice Summer Tour. That’s one more nomination than last year, when they walked away with Choice Music: Breakout Group and Choice Summer: Music Group.
Irwin also ended up providing one of the 2014 ceremony’s most unexpected moments. 5SOS pre-taped its acceptance speech, and the video that played showed the guys all wearing nothing but towels. But Irwin looked, um, a little different than the others, and even tweeted, “Apparently I had a boner in the acceptance video.”
