Us Weekly Did NOT Drop Real Housewives Cover For Teresa Giudice, Despite Report

Us Weekly Real Housewives Cover

Us Weekly was NOT planning to put “The Real Housewives of New York City” on its latest cover, despite a New York Daily News story that wrongly claims Teresa Giudice’s own prison cover story bumped the Bravo show. Gossip Cop can exclusively bust the report.

According to the Daily News, Bravo had been trying to get the “Real Housewives” cast on the magazine cover ahead of next week’s season premiere. The newspaper claims the network had “been working with editors at the mag for two weeks planning interviews and a photo shoot — until they were dropped for Giudice.”

As Gossip Cop reported, the Giudice cover hit newsstands on Wednesday, offering readers a behind-the-scenes look at the imprisoned reality star’s time behind bars, and her husband Joe’s visits with the couple’s daughters. But the Daily News says there was supposed to be a “Real Housewives” cover instead, with one of the outlet’s sources explaining, “This is a make or break season for the New York franchise.”

But it’s not true. A Bravo spokesperson tells Gossip Cop exclusively, “This is completely untrue. We had no cover in the works for ‘Real Housewives Of New York’ with Us magazine. They are on a media tour for the premiere airing April 7, but contrary to what this item says, an Us magazine cover was not in any way being planned — not to say we wouldn’t love that.”
