An Easter egg hunt is not to be taken lightly when you’re with Taylor Swift. In fact, if the videos below, which the superstar shared on Sunday, is any indication, you might want to suit up with some protective gear before participating.
We kid, of course. But Swift and her brother Austin do have a friendly sibling rivalry that turns family holiday get-togethers into ruthless hijinks. Case in point are the clips the singer shared from their 2015 Easter hunt, showing the brother-sister duo nearly tackling each other as they fight to collect the most eggs. At one point, Swift even starts smacking her younger brother with her bag.
“When your parents arrange a competitive sibling Easter egg hunt, failing to take into account that their children are Ross and Monica,” Swift captioned her first Instagram post. The “Ross and Monica” reference, of course, is a nod to “Friends,” and the super tense, but always hilarious competition between Ross (David Schwimmer) and his younger sister Monica (Courteney Cox). In the first video, Swift’s dad be heard saying, “You’re missing a bunch of them, guys,” and her mom, who is the one filming, quips when the fighting breaks out, “Oh my god, it never ends! The struggle is real!”
In the second clip, Swift darts around the backyard on her quest for more eggs, and yells out, “I’ve got like a hundred! GOOD LUCK!” Her mom amusingly mutters this time, “Oh, dear god. Oh, jeez.” Swift also showed off the gift her mother gave her, which is said to actually be from the Easter Bunny. “When you’re 25 and your mom is still like….,” Swift funnily captioned post.
The Easter festivities came one day after Swift and her “Nashville squad,” including Austin, Lily Aldridge, the Kings of Leon Followill family, and more pals like Hayley Williams celebrated longtime best friend Abigail Anderson’s birthday with a big party. Check out all the videos and photos!
