Taylor Swift and Lorde are not at war. In fact, the close friends are actually mocking the ridiculous claim, which surfaced online in recent days.
OK! sparked the rumor, alleging that the stars have been clashing because Lorde supposedly rejected Swift’s suggestion that they do a duet. “Lorde loves Taylor but she thinks that their voices have completely different sounds and they won’t mesh well together,” a source told the magazine. “Taylor was pretty disappointed with her reaction.”
But Swift took to Twitter on Monday night to humorously set the record straight, and call out outlets for spreading the misinformation. “Media, when you say ‘Lorde & Taylor are fighting’-by fighting do you mean ‘FaceTiming constantly from US to NZ and LOLing at you’? Thnx bye,” wrote the superstar. Lorde echoed her friend’s sentiments, retweeting Swift’s message, and writing, “sisters are doin’ it for themselves @taylorswift13.”
Indeed, while Swifft and Lorde’s schedules have prevented them from hanging out together lately, they are known to have a super-tight group of gal pals that get together frequently. And though their friendship initially got off to a rocky star after some comments Lorde made about Swift were misinterpreted, it’s clear that their friendship is not on the rocks, but actually as tight as ever.
