Taraji P. Henson opened her “SNL” monologue by talking about how she made it, and that after after 20 years in show business, “white people finally know who I am.” She added that after “hustling” for all those years, she then sang about how “I Made It.” Check out the video below of Henson’s “Saturday Night Live” monologue.

Not only did Henson sang, with the help of a gospel choir, about all the awful jobs she could be doing now like “working on a pole” or “handing out samples in a grocery store” if she didn’t make it, but “SNL” cast members also sang about how “I Made It.” Tara Killam sang about how he could still be doing magic tricks for his parents’ friends, while Kate McKinnon said she could still be working behind the counter at Nathan’s. Other “SNL” cast members had similarly funny lyrics about what they could be doing had they not made it

This is Henson’s first time hosting “SNL.” The actress, who’s had a successful film and TV career, is now known for her starring role as “Cookie” on the FOX hit, “Empire.” Check out the video below of Henson singing “I Made It” during her “SNL” monologue, and tell us what you think.
