Sofia Vergara sent Reese Witherspoon to the emergency room when the two stars filmed a fight scene for their new movie Hot Pursuit. “I popped her ovary,” joked Vergara as they recounted the dramatic moments on Monday’s “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” Watch the video below.
The actresses were shooting a rough-and-tumble scene when Vergara got a little too physical with Witherspoon. DeGeneres asked what happened. “Something with internal bleeding,” answered Vergara.
“I thought my appendix had burst!” recalled Witherspoon, laughing. It turns out Vergara was pushing her co-star during the scene, and Witherspoon asked that she do it even harder, at which point something went awry. “I popped her ovary,” joked Vergara. Witherspoon quipped, “It’s clearly something that happens in Colombia… I don’t know what happened.”
Fortunately, it seems like Witherspoon survived the Vergara attack in relatively good health. Elsewhere in the clip, the actresses talk about Witherspoon’s attempts to speak Spanish in the movie. According to Vergara, Witherspoon’s Spanish is “terrible” and hilarious. Thinking about her own accent, the “Modern Family” star noted, “Now I finally understand why I am so funny to the Americans.” Watch the video below, and tell us what you think.
