Telling her side. Kim Richards sat down for an extended interview with Dr. Phil, and spoke candidly about her headline-making drunken arrest at the Beverly Hills Hotel
In the sit-down, which will air on CBS on Tuesday, April 28, the reality star reflects on the incident, and what led to her arrest on Thursday, April 16. Richards, 50, recalled pouring herself a strong, "good-sized [drink]" and getting the effects of the alcohol as she drove.
"I started to drive home and it was about when I hit the hotel that I started to feel it," Richards told Dr. Phil, 64, of her decision to stop at the Beverly Hills Hotel. "I pulled in 'cause I'm comfortable there. I've been going there since I'm a little girl."
The hotel -- part of brother-in-law Richard Hilton's family empire -- features the swanky Polo Lounge, where the reality star was found intoxicated and causing a scene. Asked by Dr. Phil whether she ordered a drink at the bar upon her arrival, Richards said, "I did not. Their bar was closed."

"It was empty, it was just us," she continued of herself and the Polo Lounge's waitstaff. "I do know when he mentioned the word trespassing... the waiter, he said, you know, 'If you don't leave, we're gonna call the police for trespassing.'"
Richards was detained by members of the hotel's security team and taken off the property. The Beverly Hills Police Department released a statement last week explaining that Richards was taken into custody at 2:04 a.m. on April 16, and "was displaying symptoms of alcohol intoxication including slurred speech and belligerent insolent behavior cursing at the officers and passively resisted arrest."

Richards, who reportedly checked into rehab in Malibu, Calif. this weekend, has long struggled with her sobriety.
"I have been sober," she told Dr. Phil. "I haven’t been working a program."
