Khloe Kardashian might have her divorce case dismissed if she doesn’t take action soon to finalize her split from Lamar Odom. A court document has just been filed indicating that Kardashian has failed to pursue divorce proceedings, and that the case will be thrown out if she does not file the proper papers in the coming weeks. According to TMZ, the deadline could be as early as the end of April.
The development signals legal inertia more than a romantic reconciliation, however. Odom and Kardashian’s estranged status has not changed since December 2013, when she filed the original divorce paperwork. Odom never responded with his own filing, and Kardashian has opted to let the matter go unresolved rather than obtain a default judgment.
Kardashian family sources have said for more than a year that the reality TV star has been unwilling to deal with the legal proceedings, even though the couple’s marriage has been all but officially over. Kardashian has said she wishes circumstances were different and that Odom was still her husband, but, despite rumors, the former couple has not been meeting and working toward a reconciliation.
