Kevin Hart received the Comedic Genius Award at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, and dedicated the trophy to his two kids and his family.

“I want to thank my fiancé… I want to thank my ex-wife for giving me these two beautiful kids, that are my best friends right now. I want to thank Heaven for being the most amazing daughter ever, and Hendrix for being the most amazing son ever,” said Hart, adding, “At the end of the day, you all wonder why I work so hard. My kids are with me because I do it all for them, and I’m trying to leave a legacy behind so when it’s all said and done, the last name Hart means something.”

The comedian is on a roll, having recently hosted Justin Bieber’s roast on Comedy Central and starring in the recently released movies The Wedding Ringer and Get Hard. He also stars in the TV show “Real Husbands of Hollywood.” In fact, Hart’s appearance in so many projects was mocked by Movie Awards host Amy Schumer in her opening monologue.

This is the second-ever Comedic Genius Award given out at the MTV Movie Awards. Last year, Will Ferrell received the inaugural trophy, but his acceptance speech was bizarrely interrupted by Aubrey Plaza, who was subsequently thrown out of the awards for her stunt. Gossip Cop will have the video of Hart’s speech shortly. Stay tuned!
