Kelly Clarkson addresses continued criticism about her weight on Friday’s “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” Watch below.

As Gossip Cop has reported, Clarkson has been repeatedly body shamed in the wake of welcoming daughter River Rose last year. In a celebrity world where most stars seem to rush to debut their “body after baby” in a matter of weeks, Clarkson staying at a larger size has made her a target for cruel and hateful comments. But while the remarks are uncalled for, they unfortunately don’t seem to be slowing down. Even Clarkson’s homecoming on “American Idol” this week led to more negativity, with some viewers tweeting about how “fat” she is.

In her chat with DeGeneres, Clarkson points out that she’s been bullied about her body for years, recalling how people even called her “big” during her original run on “American Idol” because she was larger than the other female contestants. So when she was recently told about Katie Hopkins’ rude comments, in which the British personality called her “chunky monkey” and worse, Clarkson says, “I’m like ‘Are you serious? Get in line!'”

In response to DeGeneres’ sympathy, Clarkson says, “Well, it hurts your feelings more if it’s someone else that you like. Ya know, if it’s you, you’re just like, ‘Whatever.'” The singer explains, “I think what hurts my feelings for people is then I’ll have like a meet and greet after a show, and a girl that’s like bigger than me will be in the meet and greet and be like, ‘Oh, god,’ and they’ll say, ‘If they think you’re big, I must be like so fat to them.’”

“And it’s like, you’re just who you are. We are who we are. Whatever size,” continues the superstar. “And it doesn’t mean that you’re gonna be that forever.” Clarkson also discusses her new album, and sings a “Since U Been Gone” duet with DeGeneres in the bathroom. Check out the videos below.
