Drive-thru diva! James Corden wasn't pleased with Jennifer Hudson's tardiness during their recent carpool together, but luckily the American Idol season 3 alum made up for it when she belted out her own tunes while riding shotgun.

The pals sang Hudson's "If This Isn't Love" and her new Iggy Azalea collab "Trouble." But the laughs didn't really begin until the Late Late Show host pulled up to an Astro Burger joint to grab lunch.
"I'm not going to change my routine just because I'm late," he said. The Into the Woods star, 36, then rolled down his window to order, but was happily surprised when Hudson interrupted him to sing it for him.

"Ooh, yes! Cheeseburger!" she sang. "Don't forget my diet coke!" (Before making it in Tinseltown, Hudson actually worked at a McDonald's!)
Before heading to work, Corden also stopped to take a photo with the multi-hyphenate's Hollywood Walk of Fame star — and, best of all, played Hudson's "And I Am Telling You" from 2006's Dreamgirls. The Chicago native won the Oscar for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her unforgettable turn as Effie White.

The carpool proved to help the stars bond, too. Hudson, 33, talked about her longtime love David Otunga, with whom she shares 5-year-old son David Jr. Otunga is a Harvard Law graduate and WWE wrestler.
"Sometimes he likes to experiment on me and put me in a head lock," Hudson joked. (But not really!) "That makes no sense to me," Corden teased. "There can't be many people in the world who are like, "I'm going to be a WWE wrestler and then have a law degree to fall back on.'"
