Beyonce released “Die With You” on Saturday, a new track accompanied by a music video available only on Tidal, the new high-quality streaming music service spearheaded by Jay Z. The song is reportedly meant as a commemoration of the couple’s seventh anniversary. Beyonce posted a preview of the video on her Facebook page. The video shows Beyonce sitting at a piano. She’s being filmed by a handheld camera. There is no fancy dancing. There are no crazy sequences or costumes. It’s just Beyonce, a piano, and her voice. (Oh, and spoiler alert: Jay Z is the one filming her.)
As she moves through the quiet ballad, Beyonce sings, “I wake up just to sleep with you / I open my eyes so I can see it’s you / And I live so I can die with you.” Aww. Love!
