Walls Of Snow Line Italian Town After Intense Snowfall

Some observers claimed Capracotta, a small mountain town in Italy, recorded 100.7 inches, or 256 centimeters, of snow in one day. Officially, weather observers recorded far less, though the snowdrifts remained impressive.

A tiny town in central Italy was buried under snow last week, weather website MeteoWeb reported.

In spite of some claims, Capracotta likely did not hit 256 centimeters — 100.7 inches — of snowfall in 18 hours, USA Today reported.

The massive snow drifts were likely created from a smaller amount of snow being blown around by high winds, USA Today reported.
