Karrueche Tran tries to explain her recently-ended relationship with Chris Brown to a skeptical Iyanla Vanzant in preview clips from their uncomfortable OWN interview, set to air in full over the weekend. Watch the videos below.
Vanzant seems bewildered by Tran’s infatuation with Brown. “I know what I saw, and I know how I wanted to react, and how I wanted to treat the relationship or treat him,” explains Tran. “I wanted to love him, because that’s what he needs. Love.” Vanzant calls Tran’s approach a “classic mistake that women make… that it is our responsibility to heal a man’s wounds and damage.”
Vanzant also questions Tran about Brown’s continued involvement with Rihanna during their relationship. “I was under the impression that it was a friend-type of… not a friend, but it wasn’t what it became to be,” says Tran. “I didn’t want to believe it.”
The model also reflects on the problems with putting relationship drama on social media, which she calls”the worst thing to do.” Tran explains, “It’s nobody’s business but you and the person, or just you yourself… It leaves open space for everybody to say what they want.” She admits, “I’ve learned the hard way.
