Justin Bieber was eviscerated at his Comedy Central Roast on Saturday, but one person who wasn’t even in attendance was also ripped to shreds: Selena Gomez. The singer-actress was a target of many of the jabs, so much so that Bieber was asked about it afterward. See video below.

A false rumor last month wrongly claimed Gomez was asked to help torment Bieber at the event, but Gossip Cop was exclusively told by Comedy Central that they did not reach out to her, nor did her camp reach out to producers. Then last week, a number of concerned fans took to Twitter pleading for the roasters to not mention Gomez in the festivities at all. Comedian Chris D’Elia, however, made it clear that virtually anything was fair game. “Guys… It’s a roast. If you tweet me telling me specifically not to talk about a specific thing I promise I WILL bring it up,” he tweeted.

Well, Gomez was indeed brought up… repeatedly. Roast master Kevin Hart was the first to invoke Bieber’s ex, saying, “Justin, unfortunately, Selena Gomez couldn’t be here tonight. Just because she didn’t want to be here. I wish I had something better to tell you, but I don’t.” Hart then went on, “No, Selena got word — there were rumors that Justin [was] dealing with Kendall Jenner, and that shocked me. I was like ‘What the f*ck.’ That’s what I said, ‘What the f*ck.’ I was like, ‘You gonna deal with a Jenner, I thought it would be Bruce!’ That’s what I thought!”

D’Elia later warned Bieber before his set, “You’re about to get f*cked harder than Orlando Bloom f*cked Selena Gomez.” And the references to Gomez’s sex life didn’t end there. Natasha Leggero declared, “Selena Gomez had to f*ck you. She is literally the least lucky Selena in show business.”

The harshest comments, however, came from Jeffrey Ross. He began, “Selena Gomez wanted to be here, but she’s dating men now,” and then asked, ” Is it true you dumped her because she grew a mustache before you?” Ross went on to say, “Selena Gomez had sex with [you]… proving Mexicans will do the disgusting jobs Americans just won’t do.”

Bieber had mixed reactions to the Gomez jabs throughout the show, sometimes laughing, sometimes not. But he was asked point-blank how he felt about them at a press conference that immediately followed the taping. “Everybody was going balls to the wall,” replied Bieber. “There was no holding back. So, I mean, it was whatever.” D’Elia and Ross, standing by Bieber’s side, then threw in a few more jokes about Gomez.

Bieber was also asked by reporters what he found most offensive, and he said there was “a lot” of offensive material, but specifically said the jokes that referenced the late Paul Walker were ones he didn’t “particularly like.” That said, Bieber went on to admit that the roast wasn’t as “bad” as he thought it was going to be. Some, however, may not agree with that. In the hours after the event, D’Elia tweeted, “To my knowledge, at least one person on that stage was very upset with me from last night.” And Ross wrote on Twitter Sunday, “#BieberRoast, Watch it March 30th if you can take a joke.” Check out the video below, and tell us what you think.
