Johnny Depp has injured himself in Australia and returned to the United States for medical attention.
Australia's 9News reported that the actor sustained a hand injury while on location for "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales." The actor has been filming on Australia's Gold Coast for the past month.
The hand injury did not occur while on set or filming the fifth installment in the "Pirates" franchise.

The 51-year-old was photographed boarding a private jet in Brisbane on Wednesday with his bandaged hand in a sling.
Johnny will reportedly be away from the shoot for around two weeks.
"The film won't be delayed too much," a Disney spokesperson told 9News.

"Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" is slated to hit theaters in 2017.
