Joseph Gordon-Levitt will dance his cares away in the "Fraggle Rock" movie.
The actor will star in and produce a movie version of the beloved Jim Henson-created children's series, which debuted in 1983.
"The first screen personas I ever loved were Henson creations, first on 'Sesame Street,' and then on 'Fraggle Rock,'" the actor said in a statement. "Jim Henson’s characters make you laugh and sing, but they’re also layered, surprising, and wise. From Oscar the Grouch, to Yoda, to the Fraggles. I’ve never stopped loving his work, even as a young frisky man, and on into adulthood. Collaborating with Lisa Henson makes me confident we can do something that Jim would have loved. I’m grateful and excited to be working with New Regency on this project."

The series, which first appeared on HBO and ran for five seasons, followed the adventures of Gobo, Mokey, Red, Wembley and Boober (Fraggles), the hard-working tiny Doozers, and the giant and sometimes villainous Gorgs – and who could forget the show's all-knowing oracle, Marjory the Trash Heap.
No word on Joseph's character in the big screen version.
The actor will next be seen in an untitled Christmas movie with Seth Rogen and as Edward Snowden in Oliver Stone's "Snowden," which is currently filming.
