Dominic Purcell is staying in The CW family.

The actor is joining the planned Flash/Arrow spinoff that will combine characters from both superhero dramas, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

The untitled project comes from Arrow creators Greg BerlantiAndrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim. Other stars on board include The Flash's Miller and Victor Garber (Dr. Martin Stein/ one half of Firestorm). Also in the mix are Arrow's Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer/The Atom and Caity Lotz, whose Arrow character Sara Lance/Canary died earlier this season.

Purcell reunited with fellow Prison Break alum Miller in an episode of The Flash earlier this season, and the pair are returning for the March 24 episode. The CW spinoff would be their first series regular roles since the Fox show ended in 2009.

Arrow and The Flash has already found success with a series of crossover episodes, and it is possible more characters from those shows could appear in the spinoff, which is described as a supehero team-up series. Three DC characters who have not appeared on either show are said to play key roles in the drama.

The potential Arrow/Flash teamup comes as Berlanti and Kreisberg are prepping CBS' DC Comics take on Supergirl, which has a series commitment at the network. The potential spinoff also hails from Warner Bros. Television and Greg Berlanti Productions' topper Sarah Schechter
