Clark Beckham won over the “American Idol” judges with a new performance of his audition song, “It’s A Man’s Man’s Man’s World” on Wednesday’s episode, but this time he did it in front of a big audience. Watch below!
The Top 12 contestants for season 14 were revealed throughout the broadcast, with each singer taking the stage after finding out they made the cut. Everyone had to perform new takes on their original audition songs, which meant Beckham, safely in the Top 12, now had the tall order of wowing once again with the James Brown classic, “It’s A Man’s Man’s Man’s World.” Well, he more then pulled it off.
Harry Connick Jr. told the former street performer afterward, “If you can take what’s probably the most ultimate chauvinistic song in the history of popular songs and make me forget about that message and enjoy the performance, that’s quite an accomplishment. Nice job!”
Keith Urban exclaimed, “Amazing job! That was killer, dude!” And then Jennifer Lopez first declared, “So, so great,” before giving the biggest praise of all. “That to me was the vocal of the night. Amazing,” said the superstar. Check out the video below!
