‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ Adds Wes Bentley

Wes Bentley Headshot Two - P 2013

Wes Bentley is staying in the American Horror Story family.

The actor has joined the cast of season five's Hotel, showrunner Ryan Murphy announced Tuesday.

"Thrilled to announce Wes Bentley will be a series regular on AHS: Hotel," Murphy wrote.

The casting keeps Bentley in the AHS fold and comes after the actor — who starred in Murphy's former HBO pilot Open — recurred on AHS: Freak Show as Edward Mordrake.

Bentley joins a Hotel cast toplined by leads Lady Gaga and Matt Bomer, with Cheyenne Jackson set as a member of the ensemble.

The casting comes as FX's AHS franchise officially lost leading lady Jessica Lange for season five. Plot details about Hotel are, as has become par for the course with AHS, being kept under wraps. Sources tell THR that AHS co-star Kathy Bates is also poised to return, while mainstay Evan Peters hinted during PaleyFest that he may likely be back as well.

Bentley, who will make his series regular debut with AHS, is repped by WME, Untitled and Morris Yorn.

AHS: Hotel will debut in late October on FX. Production begins this summer in Los Angeles.
