Vanilla Ice has been arrested and charged with burglary and grand theft. According to local reports, he is accused of stealing furniture, a pool heater, bicycles and more from a vacant home in Lantana, Florida. The thefts allegedly occurred last December and this month.

The performer, whose real name is Rob Van Winkle, was reportedly renovating an adjacent property for his “The Vanilla Ice Project” home improvement reality TV show when he decided to steal items from the unoccupied residence, which is in the process of foreclosure. Police executed a search warrant and recovered many of the stolen items from a house “under the care and control” of Van Winkle. The former rapper voluntarily met with investigators to give a sworn statement.

He was arrested and charged with burglary residence and grand theft. In recent years, Van Winkle had had success with “The Vanilla Ice Project,” which has aired four seasons. The show follows his endeavors in real estate investment and renovation.

According to the show’s official DIY Network site’s description of the most recent season: “The pop icon and knock-out home renovator has taken his biggest risk yet, investing in a high-dollar lakefront dump in need of a top-to-bottom transformation. That means ripping rooms to the studs, adding a new pool, a boat dock with a tiki hut and state-of-the-art technology all around.” Gossip Cop will have updates on his legal situation.
