From 20th Century Fox Television, The Grinder stars Lowe as beloved TV lawyer Dean Sanderson (aka The Grinder). When his long-running hit series comes to an end, he finds himself at a crossroads in life and decides to move back to his small hometown thinking he has the experience to take over his family's law firm.

Jarrad Paul (Yes Man,Liar Liar) and Andrew Mogel will pen the script and executive produce alongside Sex Tape's Nicholas Stoller. Jake Kasdan, will executive produce and direct the single-camera pilot. The comedy reunites Paul and Mogel with frequent collaborator Stoller.

For Lowe, this marks his return to broadcast following his run on NBC's Parks and Recreation. It also reunites him with Stoller and Kasdan after his co-starring role in Sex Tape. A five-time Golden Globe nominee, Lowe's TV credits include NBC's The West Wing and HBO TV movie Behind the Candelabra. He's currently in production in London on Working Title TV and Bigballs Films' Apocalypse Slough — which will air stateside on NBC — and will be seen this Christmas in Paramount's Monster Trucks as well as returning for the final season of Parks.

Lowe, always in demand, was also attached to star in a family comedy developed at NBC that did not move to pilot. Last season, he was set for tennis comedy The Pro for NBC, that also came packaged with Lowe attached to star.

For Fox, this marks the network's eighth comedy pilot of the season — even with last year — and sixth single-camera vehicle (up one year-over-year).

Lowe is repped by WME, Brillstein and O'Melveny & Meyers; Paul and Mogel are with UTA; Kasdan is with WME.
