Madonna’s ‘Fifty Shades’ Shade! – ARTICLE

Whips? Spankings? Oh please, Christian Grey – that's old news for Madonna.

Her Madgesty has spoken out about E L James' "Fifty Shades of Grey" novel, and she's not impressed.

"It's pulp fiction. It's not very sexy, maybe for someone who has never had sex before," the 56-year-old star told Billboard in a new interview, when asked if she'd read the first book in the erotic trilogy.

The "Living for Love" singer said she found the immensely popular book to be a snoozefest.

"I kept waiting for something exciting and crazy to happen in that red room thing, and I was like, 'Hmm, a lot of spanking,'" she told the mag adding that she found a certain plot point to be far-fetched.

"I also thought, 'This is so unrealistic because no guy goes down on a girl that much,'" she said.

The ever-evolving pop star also weighed in on whether she could pinpoint a specific moment in her storied career which went on to help lift taboos for women in America.

"I don't think there was one part. I think it's an ongoing activity in my life," she said. "I'm continuing to open doors for the women behind me. I don't know many women who have had a successful career in pop music as long as I've had. And I waited until I was older to have children. I raised children and wasn't married. And I continue to express myself -- my sexuality -- in my 50's, even though that's also considered taboo, and I get a lot of sh*t for it.

"But in 20 years, Miley Cyrus probably won't get sh*t for it," she continued. "Then, it'll be like, 'Oh, yeah, that's nothing new.'"
