Kanye West and Kevin Durant will headline the first Roc City Classic in New York on Thursday. The concert event, put on by Roc Nation in conjunction with NBA All-Star Weekend, will be streaming live on Jay Z’s Life+Times YouTube channel, beginning at 8 p.m. Watch the live stream video below!
It promises to be a night that generates a lot of buzz, like anything West seems to do these days. Earlier on Thursday, at an event for his new Adidas Yeezy Boost shoes, the rapper debuted “Wolves,” featuring Sia and Vic Mensa.
Of course, West made headlines in recent days following his brief on-stage interruption of Beck during the musician’s acceptance of the Album of the Year honor at the Grammy Awards. West later explained in detail his belief that Beyonce had been snubbed and her artistry disrespected. “When you keep on diminishing art and not respecting the craft and smacking people in the face after they deliver monumental feats of music, you’re disrespectful to inspiration,” he told E! after the ceremony.
West later explained to Ryan Seacrest, “I don’t feel like I have the right to take away from people’s moments, but the reality of it is — and case in point by who came up to me right afterwards — is it’s almost like a chiropractor. You know, you just get a little crook out like, ‘Wow, this crook has been there!’ It’s just a little jolt of truth, right? And then you know, everyone feels better after the fact, or everyone is way more famous after the fact, or everyone sells way more albums after the fact, and then Kanye just goes on being an a**hole to everyone.”
