‘Arrow’: Will Lance Turn on the Vigilante?

Paul Blackthorne Arrow - H 2015

Det. Lance (Paul Blackthorne) may be ready to put the Arrow (Stephen Amell) in his cross hairs.

Laurel (Katie Cassidy) deceived her father for weeks, worrying that letting him know that her sister Sara (Caity Lotz) had died would further complicate his heart condition. The truth came tumbling out in an emotional scene last week, and the fallout will be felt throughout the rest of the season, says Blackthorne.

"I think he'll have a few trust issues to try to deal with," Blackthorne tells The Hollywood Reporter. "Not only with her, but the Arrow as well."

Lance went from hunting the vigilante in season one two embracing him going as far as to say he didn't care to learn who the Arrow was. That is poised to change in the wake of the Sara revelation.

"His identity could be more of an interest to him than before. He hasn't worried about who the Arrow was while he thought the guy was doing good," says Blackthorne. "Their relationship will change, and Lance is forced into situations he wouldn't be expected to be forced into."

Lance has largely been sidelined this season because of his heart condition, but Laurel's betrayal could put him back in the thick of things.

"Because with this breakdown, I do think he's going to face things and be out there on the street defying the heart condition," says Blackthorne.

But he promises it won't be a straightforward journey, as "things are never straight forward in Starling City."

Arrow airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on The CW.
