Will Ferrell hit a cheerleader in the face with a basketball at Wednesday’s NBA game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the New Orleans Pelicans. He was then dragged out of the arena by security. Fortunately, it was all part of a scene being filmed for his upcoming movie Daddy’s Home. Watch the video below!

For the film, Ferrell’s character came out at halftime to attempt a half-court shot. Instead, he drilled one of the Pelicans’ cheerleaders in the head at close range. Security personnel then “removed” him from the premises.

According to a summary of Daddy’s Home, Ferrell stars as an uptight, mild-mannered radio executive desperate to be a good parent to the children of his new wife, played by Linda Cardellini. When her fun-loving ex-husband (Mark Wahlberg) comes back on the scene, Ferrell’s character competes with him for the children’s affection. Mayhem ensues.

Additional filming at the area in New Orleans is expected in the next few days. Of course, Ferrell played a cheerleader during his “Saturday Night Live” run, and he’s no stranger to creating chaos at NBA games. Back in 2013, he suited up as a security official and jokingly escorted Shaquille O’Neal from a Lakers game. In 2012, he entertainingly introduced the starting lineups before a Chicago Bulls-New Orleans Hornets clash. Check out what happened at Wednesday’s game in the photos and video below!
