The Voices stars Ryan Reynolds as a man whose pets talk to him, occasionally instructing him to murder people. The horror-comedy looks delightfully twisted. Check out the first trailer below!
Here’s the official studio synopsis: “Jerry is that chipper guy clocking the nine-to-five at a bathtub factory, with the offbeat charm of anyone who could use a few friends. With the help of his court-appointed psychiatrist, he pursues his office crush. However, the relationship takes a sudden, murderous turn after she stands him up for a date. Guided by his evil talking cat and benevolent talking dog, Jerry must decide whether to keep striving for normalcy, or indulge in a much more sinister path.”
It’s just your run-of-the-mill story, really! Anna Kendrick stars as a cute woman Reynolds has a crush on (and might murder). Gemma Arterton is featured as the talking, severed head of a victim he keeps in his fridge. Jacki Weaver plays his therapist. And Reynolds impressively does the voices for Mr. Whiskers, Bosco, Bunny Monkey, and all the other animals who have a little too much control over his character’s life.
The Voices will be released in February. It’s gotten some very positive reviews. Check out the first trailer below, and tell us what you think!
